Breakfast Program

We will be continuing the Federal Breakfast Program in our cafeteria. This program will be served daily at approximately 7:40 a.m. We ask that parents use their School Speak account to make meal choices for the preceding week/month. This allows our cook to have enough time for ordering and planning the needed quantities available for serving. There will be no charge for this program for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch, nor for Kindergarten children. The fee for this program will be $1.50/day for all other participants. Non-participating students join all the students for breakfast and are able to bring a cold breakfast or a small snack.

Lunch Program

Holy Cross participates and complies with the National School Lunch Program. At the beginning of each month, a calendar of the daily menus is sent home. Pre-K will begin to eat at 11:00, Kindergarten, and the rest of the grades, will eat lunch at 11:30. Proper nutrition is important for physical energy and alert minds. Please encourage your child to try to eat a hot meal but your child may bring cold lunch. When a child brings a cold lunch, please pack nutritious foods with few sweets. Milk can be purchased for the cold lunch for $.50. Prices for lunch are $2.75 for children and $3.00 for adults.

We encourage each family to apply for free or reduced lunch through the government reimbursement program. Even if you are not sure that you are eligible, this program is an asset to our hot lunch program as well as a great benefit to families.

If you believe your family may qualify for the federal free or reduced lunch program, please take advantage of this opportunity. Application forms are available at the Open House in August, but families can apply any time of year. Free and reduced meals do not become applicable until the forms are processed, usually within a week of receipt. Names of families receiving free or reduced meals are kept confidential.

Snacks

Preschool children will have a small snack each afternoon that they bring from home.

Snacks will be available for our Angel Care Program.

At the beginning of each month, a calendar of the daily menus is sent home.
